The layout and overall design is really good, and the ease of application within the GF-software is top-notch.
- Yet, as with most of these designs they are not perfectly optimized (even for the suggested materials).
> I understand wanting to avoid "burning" or "scorching" materials over-much, but space-saving on the material is always a priority (particularly to the hobbyist that isn't selling their work, thus able to recoup the cost of waste material). THUS, abutting each domino together along the long sides would be an improvement; having them as individual rows is nice however, allowing for some modularity in placement on "scrap" material... but it would also help with dropout cutting issues.
- cutting the inner 'dots', then the middle 'diamonds', the vertical edges of the 'long sides, with the final cut going around the entire exterior circumference.
- this saves time and material by eliminating the 'gaps' between each domino
ALSO, for dominos, "Thicker is Better", so utilizing either the Medium Hardwood or Medium Draftboard for the "pip-side" (dots) is great and adds dimension as well as texture to the pieces... but using THICK Acrylic is 'best' as it adds both weight and thickness to the peices.
