    A Great Starter Laser

I got the Glowforge Spark as one of my first lasers, and I’m so glad I did. It’s the perfect entry-level machine—small, approachable, and super easy to use. I mainly work with paper, and the precision is incredible. Intricate cuts that used to take forever by hand now take just minutes, and they come out perfect every time. It’s been such a fun way to level up my crafting without feeling overwhelmed. If you’re into paper crafts and thinking about a laser, the Spark is a no-brainer.

    Obsessed with crafting now

Life with two little kids is busy, and for a while, I felt like I didn’t have anything that was just for me. I’ve always liked making things and being creative, so I started looking for a hobby I could do at home. I came across some videos of people using lasers to make all kinds of cool stuff, and that’s when I decided to try the Glowforge Spark.

I had no clue how to work with a laser, but it was super easy to figure out. I had it set up and running in about 30 minutes. It’s a nice-looking machine, doesn’t take up a ton of space, and I can move it around easily if I need to. I love how many different materials I can use with it, and it’s really helped me get back into crafting. It’s been almost a year now and I’ve made everything from gifts to home decor. Definitely worth it, and I always recommend it to friends who want to get more creative.

    Amazing engraver

This is really an amazing tool. Once it was out of the box it took a little bit to set up. There is a QR code on the box to scan to start the setup. It connects to your WiFi so there are no cables other than the power cable. The software has been pretty easy to use so far. There is a camera built into the top that allows you to arrange the image on your material. We were able to burn several things with the first try. Important not. Do not use this without venting it to the outside with the accompanying hose. The fumes are not pleasant in the least. So far this has been an outstanding machine and we can't wait to do lots more with it.

Perfect for Crafting and DIY Projects!

I recently purchased the Glowforge Spark Laser Engraver, and it has been a game-changer for my crafting business! As a DIY enthusiast, I wanted a machine that could handle precise cutting and engraving, and the Glowforge Spark delivered in every way. The setup was surprisingly easy, and within an hour, I was creating intricate designs on wood, acrylic, and even leather. The software is intuitive and user-friendly, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced crafters.

One of my favorite features is the ability to upload custom designs. It adds a personal touch to my projects, and the precision is unmatched. The laser engraver is fast yet extremely detailed. Whether you're working on small keychains or larger decorative pieces, this machine handles it all.

I also appreciate how compact it is compared to other engraving machines. It fits perfectly in my home studio without taking up too much space. The build quality is solid, and it feels like a professional-grade tool, yet it's accessible for hobbyists.

If you're serious about your crafting or DIY business, the Glowforge Spark is definitely worth the investment. I’ve used it for everything from custom tumblers to personalized gifts, and the results have been outstanding every time. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials can I use with my Glowforge Spark?

Glowforge Spark fits material up to 12 in x 12 in (30.4 cm x 30.4 cm), but we recommend materials sized at 8 in x 12 in (30.4 cm x 20.32 cm) or smaller to match the cutting bed area and optimize your print experience. Glowforge Spark works with thicker materials than traditional craft cutters — you can cut materials up to ¼ in (0.635 cm) thick and engrave objects up to ¾ in high. It cuts and engraves laser-compatible materials including wood, acrylic, leather, veneer, paper, & cardboard, and also engraves on denim, mylar, rubber, cork, sandpaper, food, stone, slate, titanium, aluminum, marble, ceramic tile, and hundreds more!

Glowforge Spark uses a blue, 6-watt, solid-state diode laser, so it is not compatible with glass, clear acrylic, translucent acrylic, white acrylic, some blue acrylics, PVC vinyl, chromium-based materials, carbon-based materials, PTFE/Teflon-based materials, materials containing beryllium oxide, or Draftboard materials. It takes less than 30 minutes to get your printer out of the box, set it up, and finish your first print.

Do I need additional software to print with a Glowforge?

Nope! Every Glowforge laser works with our web-based App, Glowforge Print. You can use your Mac, PC, tablet, or smartphone to design a project completely from scratch right in the App — choose from millions of fonts, graphics, pattern tools, stamp-templates, & more! You can also choose thousands of ready-to-print designs from the Glowforge Catalog and customize them to make your perfect project!

If you prefer, use your favorite software (like Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, GIMP, Autodesk 360, Sketchup, and more) to create a project in your favorite file formats like JPG, PNG, SVG, or PDF, then easily drag-and-drop it right into the Glowforge App.
